Trakstar in Lisbon invites a skilled Linux network engineer to join its Internet Services team. You will troubleshoot Linux-based Home Gateways, analyze networking and Wi‑Fi issues, reproduce problems in a lab, and develop scripts to automate testing and data collection.

You will work with OpenWrt, GPON/DOCSIS knowledge, and tools like Wireshark. The role offers a permanent contract, equipment, health and life insurance, and a dynamic, supportive team with opportunities to grow.

Formación

• Strong knowledge of Linux (debugging, configuration, scripting, etc.).
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, services (DHCP, DNS), and debugging tools (Wireshark).
• Knowledge of Wi‑Fi technologies (2.4/5 GHz, IEEE 802.11).
• Knowledge of fixed access network technologies such as GPON and DOCSIS.
• Scripting/programming skills (Python, Bash).
• Knowledge of OpenWrt.

Responsabilidades

• Perform advanced troubleshooting of Linux-based Home Gateways (HGWs), covering fixed access networks, Wi‑Fi, and IP services.
• Conduct low‑level analysis in Linux environments (shell, processes, memory, networking, configurations) to identify symptoms and root causes.
• Analyse Wi‑Fi issues (coverage, interference, channel utilisation, band steering, performance) based on metrics, packet captures, and diagnostic tools.
• Reproduce issues in a laboratory environment and characterise them using technical evidence such as logs, captures, and metrics.
• Develop and maintain scripts (Python, Bash, etc.) to automate testing, evidence collection, log analysis, and repetitive operational tasks.
• Document processes, technical analyses, workarounds, and recommendations, ensuring traceability and effective knowledge sharing.
