Job summary

Claranet Limited in Lisbon is seeking a Sysadmin/Engineering HGW on a hybrid basis to join our Talent Team. You will perform advanced troubleshooting of Linux-based Home Gateway Devices, including network services,Wi‑Fi issues, and diagnostics, delivering reliable, secure solutions.

Responsibilities include low‑level Linux analysis, shell operations, memory and network diagnostics, creating automation scripts in Python or Bash, and documenting processes for cross-team knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• Experience with Linux systems, debugging and scripting.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking and related services (DNS, DHCP, routing).
• Experience using network diagnostic tools like Wireshark or tcpdump.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced troubleshooting of incidents affecting Linux-based Home Gateway Devices (HGWs).
• Conduct low-level analysis in Linux environments, including shell operations and memory usage.
• Investigate Wi-Fi problems such as coverage, interference, and channel utilization.
• Reproduce customer-reported issues in lab environments with logs and captures.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts (Python, Bash) to streamline testing and analysis.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for processes and solutions.
