Rightnow, we are looking for a Sysadmin/Engineering HGW for a client on ourTalent Team.
Your responsibilities include:
- Performing advanced troubleshooting of incidents affecting Linux-basedHome Gateway Devices (HGWs), including fixed access networks, Wi-Ficonnectivity, and IP services.
- Conducting low-level analysis in Linux environments, including shelloperations, process management, memory usage, network diagnostics, andconfiguration review to identify root causes of issues.
- Investigating Wi-Fi-related problems such as coverage, interference,channel utilization, band steering, and performance degradation using metrics,packet captures, and diagnostic tools.
- Reproducing customer-reported issues in laboratory environments andcharacterizing them through technical evidence, including logs, networkcaptures, and performance metrics.
- Developing and maintaining automation scripts (Python, Bash, or similar)to streamline testing, evidence collection, log analysis, and operationalactivities.
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation, including processes,analyses, workarounds, and recommendations, ensuring knowledge sharing andtraceability across teams.
You must have:
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux systems, including debugging,system configuration, troubleshooting, and scripting (mandatory requirement).
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts and related servicessuch as DNS, DHCP, routing, and network troubleshooting.
- Experience using network diagnostic and analysis tools such asWireshark, tcpdump, or similar.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability toperform root cause analysis in complex technical environments.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
We value:
- Knowledge of Wi-Fi technologies, including 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networksand IEEE 802.11 standards.
- Experience with fixed access technologies such as GPON and DOCSIS.
- Scripting and programming skills, particularly in Python and Bash.
- Familiarity with OpenWRT and embedded Linux environments.
- Experience working in telecommunications, networking, or broadbandservice environments.
