Rightnow, we are looking for a Sysadmin/Engineering HGW for a client on ourTalent Team.
Your responsibilities include:
· Performing advanced troubleshooting of incidents affecting Linux-basedHome Gateway Devices (HGWs), including fixed access networks, Wi-Ficonnectivity, and IP services.
· Conducting low-level analysis in Linux environments, including shelloperations, process management, memory usage, network diagnostics, andconfiguration review to identify root causes of issues.
· Investigating Wi-Fi-related problems such as coverage, interference,channel utilization, band steering, and performance degradation using metrics,packet captures, and diagnostic tools.
· Reproducing customer-reported issues in laboratory environments andcharacterizing them through technical evidence, including logs, networkcaptures, and performance metrics.
· Developing and maintaining automation scripts (Python, Bash, or similar)to streamline testing, evidence collection, log analysis, and operationalactivities.
· Creating and maintaining technical documentation, including processes,analyses, workarounds, and recommendations, ensuring knowledge sharing andtraceability across teams.
You must have:
· Strong hands-on experience with Linux systems, including debugging,system configuration, troubleshooting, and scripting (mandatory requirement).
· Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts and related servicessuch as DNS, DHCP, routing, and network troubleshooting.
· Experience using network diagnostic and analysis tools such asWireshark, tcpdump, or similar.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability toperform root cause analysis in complex technical environments.
· Excellent communication and documentation skills.
We value:
· Knowledge of Wi-Fi technologies, including 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networksand IEEE 802.11 standards.
· Experience with fixed access technologies such as GPON and DOCSIS.
· Scripting and programming skills, particularly in Python and Bash.
· Familiarity with OpenWRT and embedded Linux environments.
· Experience working in telecommunications, networking, or broadbandservice environments.
· A proactive mindset, attention to detail, and a passion fortroubleshooting and continuous improvement.
