Job summary

PrimeIT in Lisbon is seeking an Application Production Support Specialist to join a challenging project, working with critical applications and modern technologies.

You will monitor performance, manage incidents, perform RCA, and implement permanent improvements following ITIL and DevOps practices. The ideal candidate has 3–6 years of experience, fluency in English and Portuguese, and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining critical applications and on-call readiness.
• Strong understanding of Java-based environments and application servers.

Responsibilities

• Monitor application performance and ensure service stability and availability.
• Manage critical incidents (P1/P2), troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis.
• Implement permanent solutions to prevent recurrence and improve reliability.
• Execute changes, upgrades, patches, and deployments in line with ITIL and DevOps processes.
• Collaborate with Development and Infrastructure teams to resolve production issues.
• Improve monitoring and observability to detect issues before they affect operations.
• Maintain technical documentation and share knowledge with support teams.
• Participate in on-call rotations, including 24/7 coverage when required.

At PrimeIT, we're looking for an Application Production Support Specialist to join a challenging project in Lisbon, working with critical applications, modern technologies, and international teams.

Location: Lisbon

Level of Experience: Mid (3 to 6 years)

Salary Package & Benefits: €1,200 to €2,000 (salary base) + Food Allowance + Flex Benefits

What are we looking for?

We're looking for a technically skilled professional with a proactive mindset and a strong sense of ownership, ready to ensure the stability, availability, and performance of critical applications.

Your technical expertise should include:

• Java & Application Servers: Java, Red Hat JBoss EAP, heap and thread dump analysis, and performance optimization;
• Operating Systems & Cloud: Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), OpenShift, and Kubernetes;
• API Management: Axway and/or Apigee API gateway integration;
• Monitoring & Observability: Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus, Jaeger, and ELK;
• CI/CD & Automation: GitLab, Argo CD, Jenkins, Nexus Sonatype, Ansible, and/or Terraform;
• Databases: Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL.

You'll also be responsible for:

• Monitoring application performance and ensuring service stability and availability;

• Implementing permanent solutions to prevent recurring incidents and improve service reliability;
• Executing changes, upgrades, patches, and deployments in line with ITIL and DevOps processes;
• Collaborating with Development, Infrastructure, and other technical teams to resolve production issues;
• Optimizing monitoring and observability practices to detect potential issues before they affect business operations;
• Maintaining technical documentation and sharing knowledge with support teams;
• Participating in on-call rotations to support critical applications, including 24/7 coverage when required.
