We are looking for a Settlement Claims Officer
Main Tasks
- Analyze and investigate client claims related to late settlements, ensuring their accuracy and completeness.
- Review the full settlement process to identify the root cause of claims and assess their financial impact.
- Manage claims from detection through resolution, including follow-up of outstanding payments and receipts.
- Interact directly with clients and external counterparties regarding claims, payment status and resolution.
- Collaborate closely with Front Office, Middle Office and Back Office teams to investigate and resolve claims.
- Register and maintain claims accurately in the relevant databases, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.
- Perform first-level controls to assess the legitimacy and accuracy of claims.
- Follow up on outstanding claims and payments within the required deadlines.
- Monitor cash breaks and support the generation and follow-up of payments.
- Assess and reflect the financial impact of claims on the relevant trading portfolios.
- Identify process improvements and contribute to reducing operational and settlement risks.
- Support the formalization and continuous improvement of team procedures and operating guidelines.
- Manage a high volume of claims while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness and quality of service.
Main Skills & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Management or a related field.
- Ideally 0–2 years of professional experience, preferably in Finance, Banking, Operations or a similar environment.
- Previous experience with Settlement, Claims or Financial Markets Operations is a strong plus, but not mandatory.
- Good understanding of financial processes and strong analytical and investigative skills.
- Fluent English is mandatory, particularly written English, as communication and documentation are primarily in English.
- Good knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with high volumes of information.
- Ability to investigate issues across different stages of a process and identify root causes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in interacting with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to take ownership of issues.
- Resilience and ability to perform effectively under business pressure and tight deadlines.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, particularly when working with Front, Middle and Back Office teams.
- Client-focused approach and professional communication style.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
- This role offers a gross annual salary between 15.000€ to 38.500€, defined according to the candidate’s experience and competencies.
