Elastic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Elasticsearch - Storage Engine team. You will design and optimize core storage and query engine, tackling performance, indexing, and data layouts for observability workloads.

As a globally distributed, fully remote team, we value fast, scalable software and empower engineers to own changes, with a focus on code quality, peer review, and consensus-driven decision making.

Qualificações

• Experience building high-performance, scalable database or distributed systems.
• Strong Java skills with focus on concurrency and data structures.
• Experience indexing, storage, query execution and performance optimization.

Responsabilidades

• Lead architectural evolution of core storage engine components and optimize performance.
• Drive cross-organizational initiatives for observability solutions.
• Collaborate with globally distributed engineers focused on logs and metrics.
• Improve code quality with clean coding standards and architectural clarity.
• Act as SME and mentor across Elasticsearch engineering teams.
• Triages and reviews issues and PRs with domain experts.
• Write idiomatic Java; Elasticsearch is predominantly Java.
