Elastic seeks a Senior Software Engineer for the Elasticsearch - Distributed Systems team, focusing on scale, performance, and resilience in our Serverless offering. You will tackle deep distributed systems challenges around cluster communication, indexing, and data management across nodes.

You will build and operate core components, improve indexing concurrency, and maintain a robust cluster coordination system, ensuring safety and liveness even as nodes move and data shifts across the cluster.

Qualificações

• Deep background in distributed systems and consensus algorithms.
• Strong skills in core Java and data structures.
• Deep proficiency in algorithms.
• Experience with complex, highly distributed systems.
• Ability to own projects end-to-end and collaborate across teams.

Responsabilidades

• Build and operate core pieces of the Serverless Elasticsearch offering.
• Improve components for concurrent and consistent indexing across machines.
• Maintain cluster coordination to keep performance as nodes join/leave.
• Push limits on shards/nodes/petabytes Elasticsearch can handle.
• Investigate performance and concurrency issues and propose solutions.
• Support engineering with difficult problems.
• Own end-to-end investigations until issues are resolved.
