Elastic, the Search AI Company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Elasticsearch team. You will help ensure shared platform functionalities are easy to use, performant, maintainable and secure.

The role focuses on foundational infrastructure, common services, and extensible APIs, enabling developers to build, extend and support Elasticsearch across serverless, cloud, and on‑premise deployments.

Qualificações

• Experience crafting APIs and reasoning through tradeoffs.
• Strong CS fundamentals in algorithms and data structures.
• Proficient in core Java and concurrency.
• Experience with low-level Java concepts (concurrency, parallelism, classloaders).
• Hands-on CI/CD experience (Buildkite, Argo CD, GitOps).
• Experience leading large-scale projects across engineering teams.
• Ability to own projects from design to delivery with cross-team collaboration.
• Proven track record of using AI to accelerate development and debugging.

Responsabilidades

• Contribute to large, impactful projects that evolve Elasticsearch core infrastructure.
• Increase developer productivity by automating workflows and integrating agentic apps.
• Design and implement new scalable features and APIs in Elasticsearch.
• Address performance or concurrency challenges and propose solutions.
• Improve observability and operational aspects of cloud systems.
• Collaborate openly with ES team, Elastic users, and open source projects.
• Support engineers by tackling hard problems and ownership of investigations.
