Job summary

Aubay Portugal is seeking a senior software engineer to design and deliver customer-facing REST APIs, own end-to-end architecture, and build robust data ingestion layers. This role combines hands-on coding with shaping engineering practices in a hybrid setup with two days in Porto.

You will work across cloud environments (GCP/AWS/Azure), implement CI/CD pipelines, ensure security and uptime, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions. Fluency in English (B2+) is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Python experience designing REST APIs.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems incl. asynchronous processing, queues, idempotency.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL and query performance.
• Experience in cloud environments (GCP, AWS or Azure) and CI/CD.
• Fluent English (B2+).

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver customer-facing REST APIs with documentation.
• Own end-to-end architecture and implementation of core features.
• Build data ingestion layers with robust scraping and parsing components.
• Ship code frequently, iterating based on performance and feedback.
• Contribute to engineering culture and high standards for quality.
