Aubay Portugal is seeking a senior software engineer to design and deliver customer-facing REST APIs, own end-to-end architecture, and build robust data ingestion layers. This role combines hands-on coding with shaping engineering practices in a hybrid setup with two days in Porto.

You will work across cloud environments (GCP/AWS/Azure), implement CI/CD pipelines, ensure security and uptime, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions. Fluency in English (B2+) is required.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of Python experience designing REST APIs.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems incl. asynchronous processing, queues, idempotency.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL and query performance.
• Experience in cloud environments (GCP, AWS or Azure) and CI/CD.
• Fluent English (B2+).

What will you do?

• Design and deliver customer-facing REST APIs with comprehensive documentation, ensuring a seamless self-service experience for developers.
• Own the end-to-end architecture and implementation of core product features, from conception to deployment.
• Build and maintain robust, secure, and resilient data ingestion layers, including performant scraping and parsing components.
• Ship code frequently, iterate quickly based on product performance and customer feedback, and meet stringent security and uptime requirements.
• Contribute to shaping our engineering culture and establishing high standards for quality, ownership, and collaboration.

• Proficiency in relational database modelling (PostgreSQL or MySQL), covering indexing, query performance, and schema evolution under load.

• Fluency in English (B2 or higher).
