Job summary

ALTEN in Portugal is seeking a Senior Manager Project Purchasing to lead procurement activities for NPIs, industrialization programs, and product launches, partnering with engineering and operations to ensure timely, cost-effective sourcing. You will manage RFQs, analyse supplier proposals, negotiate terms, and develop sourcing strategies that align with project goals and profitability.

The role requires 5+ years in procurement, leadership experience, and a track record in electronics/high-tech

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in Procurement, Purchasing or related functions.
• Experience in Electronics Manufacturing or high-tech industries.
• Proven track record leading NPI and launch activities.
• At least 3 years of team leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement for NPIs, industrialization programs, and product launches.
• Manage RFQs with timely, competitive responses.
• Analyze supplier proposals and cost structures.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Logistics, Finance and PM.
• Negotiate terms to achieve cost and performance goals.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with project goals.
• Ensure supplier readiness and material availability through execution.
• Mitigate supply chain risks to protect milestones.
• Lead transition from quotation to serial production and launches.
• Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and tools.
• Lead, coach and develop Project Purchasing teams.
• Build relationships with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders.
