Job summary

emagine is seeking a senior Oracle DBA to optimize performance across ExaCC Exadata, ZFS, and ZDLRA environments. You will partner with infrastructure teams and developers to deliver improvements and cost efficiencies.

The role focuses on specialist expertise, continuous improvement, and collaboration across multi-platform environments including Azure SQL and PostgreSQL where relevant. Hybrid Lisbon-based work is available.

Qualifications

University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or comparable technical field.
5–10 years of hands-on Oracle database experience in production environments.
Proven expertise in performance tuning, compression and resource optimization.
Hands-on experience with ExaCC, ZFS and ZDLRA is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

Optimize Oracle DB performance using compression, query tuning and indexing strategies.
Fine-tune ExaCC CPU allocation to maximize used/allocated ratio.
Optimize backup/recovery for ZFS and ZDLRA and ensure cost-effectiveness.
Lead projects like Kerberos migration and Oracle client upgrades.
Guide development teams on database design, SQL coding, performance and scalability.
Perform root-cause analysis on performance incidents escalated from infra partners.
Audit, access management, and encryption controls; ensure audit quality.
