You will optimize performance, manage Exadata and ExaCC environments, implement robust backup strategies with RMAN/ZDLRA, and collaborate with infrastructure and development teams to ensure security, reliability and compliance across multi-database ecosystems including PostgreSQL and Azure SQL

Qualificações

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on Oracle database management in production.
• Expertise in performance tuning and troubleshooting Oracle databases.
• Experience with RAC, Data Guard, RMAN and OEM.
• Strong SQL/PLSQL scripting and Linux/Unix proficiency.
• Knowledge of Exadata, ExaCC, ZFS and ZDLRA environments is highly valued.
• Familiarity with TDE, auditing controls and compliance requirements.

Responsabilidades

We are looking for a Senior Oracle DBA to join a highly technical environment focused on database performance optimization, resource efficiency, and strategic project delivery across Oracle platforms and related technologies.

Location: Lisbon, Portugal

Work Model: Hybrid

Responsibilities

• Optimize Oracle database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, compression techniques, and resource optimization.
• Improve CPU allocation and utilization efficiency within Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) environments.
• Manage and optimize backup and recovery solutions using Oracle ZFS and ZDLRA platforms.
• Lead and contribute to key infrastructure and database projects, including authentication and client upgrade initiatives.
• Advise development teams on database design, SQL coding standards, scalability, and performance best practices.
• Perform root cause analysis for complex database incidents and performance issues.
• Ensure compliance with security standards, including access management, encryption, auditing, and documentation.
• Collaborate closely with infrastructure, development, and project teams.
• Support multi-database environments including Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Azure SQL where required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and technical governance.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience managing Oracle databases in production environments.
• Strong expertise in Oracle performance tuning, database optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
• Strong SQL and PL/SQL scripting skills.
• Experience with Linux and/or Unix operating systems.
• Knowledge of Exadata, ExaCC, ZFS, and ZDLRA environments is highly valued.
• Experience with TDE (Transparent Data Encryption), auditing controls, and compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification.
• Experience with Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, Azure Synapse, or DB2.
• Exposure to Jenkins, UrbanCode Deploy, Qlik Replicate, Git, Bitbucket, ServiceNow, Jira, or DBeaver.
• Experience in highly regulated environments such as financial services.
• Knowledge of Kerberos authentication and Oracle Client upgrades.
