Shakers in Lisbon, Portugal, is seeking a Senior Oracle DBA (ExaCC/Exadata) for a freelance, hybrid engagement. The role focuses on performance tuning, resource optimization, and cross-team collaboration with infrastructure partners.

You will optimize compression, indexing, and CPU allocation on ExaCC, manage backups with ZFS/ZDLRA, and lead client upgrades and Kerberos migrations. English proficiency is mandatory.

Qualificações

• 5-10 years of hands-on production experience with Oracle databases.
• Proven expertise in performance tuning, compression, and resource optimization.
• Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, and OEM.
• Proficient in SQL and PL/SQL scripting.
• Linux/Unix is primary; Windows experience is a plus.
• Professional English, C1 spoken and written.
• EU/Schengen nationality or valid Portuguese work permit.

Responsabilidades

• Optimize Oracle performance via compression, query tuning, and indexing — with a focus on ExaCC CPU efficiency, storage cost, and I/O
• Fine-tune Oracle CPU allocation algorithms on ExaCC to maximize used/allocated ratio
• Optimize backup and recovery on Oracle ZFS and ZDLRA appliances
• Lead projects including Kerberos authentication migration and Oracle Client upgrades
• Guide development teams on database design, SQL, and scalability best practices
• Perform root cause analysis on performance incidents escalated from infrastructure partners
• Enforce access management, TDE encryption, auditing, and audit-quality documentation
• Contribute to multi-platform environments (Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, Synapse) where relevant
