Job summary

Claranet limited in Lisbon is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our internal team. You will operate, configure and troubleshoot Cisco ACI fabrics, Huawei switching, and firewall security in a fast-moving ICT environment.

The role requires hands-on experience with Azure Networking, BGP/OSPF routing, and strong collaboration with the client's ICT squad. Fluency in Portuguese and English is essential for this client-facing position.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in enterprise network engineering/operations.
• Hands-on with Cisco ACI.
• Solid experience with Huawei switching.
• Experience administering Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls.
• Experience with Azure Networking and Security.
• Strong routing/switching skills (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP) and VPNs.
• Fluent Portuguese and good English.
• Good interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
• Proactive, initiative-taking with strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and troubleshoot Cisco ACI fabrics (tenants, VRFs, EPGs, contracts, L3Outs).
• Manage Huawei LAN switching (VLANs, STP, LACP, stacking, L3 routing).
• Administer Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls and security policies.
• Operate Azure networking components (VNets, peering, ExpressRoute) and hybrid connectivity.
• Act as L2/L3 escalation for network incidents; perform root-cause analysis.
• Plan and execute network changes per ITIL and client change windows.
• Monitor network health and capacity with Zabbix/Grafana.
• Maintain up-to-date diagrams and knowledge articles.
• Collaborate with client's ICT squad on network/security projects.

Yourresponsibilities include:

• Data CenterNetworking (Cisco ACI): Operate, configure and troubleshoot Cisco ACI fabrics(tenants, VRFs, bridge domains, EPGs, contracts, L3Outs), ensuring availabilityand performance.
  
• LAN/CampusSwitching (Huawei): Manage the Huawei switching infrastructure (VLANs, STP,LACP, stacking, L3 routing), including configuration, firmware upgrades andtroubleshooting.
  
• Firewall& Network Security: Administer Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls – securitypolicies, NAT, site-to-site and remote-access VPNs, threat prevention profiles,HA and firmware lifecycle.
  
• AzureNetworking & Security: Operate and evolve Azure network components (VNets,peering, VPN Gateway/ExpressRoute, NSGs, Azure Firewall, ApplicationGateway/WAF, Private Endpoints) and hybrid connectivity with on-premises.
  
• Incident& Problem Management: Act as L2/L3 escalation point for network andsecurity incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing permanentfixes.
  
• ChangeManagement: Plan, document and execute network changes in line with ITILprocesses and the client's change windows.
  
• Monitoring& Capacity: Monitor network health and capacity (e.g. Zabbix/Grafana),proactively identifying risks and improvement opportunities.
  
• Documentation:Maintain up-to-date network diagrams, configurations, procedures and knowledgearticles.
  
• ClientCollaboration: Work as part of the client's ICT Squad (Network & Security),in close collaboration with the client's technology team, supporting sprintplanning and network/security projects.
  

You musthave:

• 5+ years ofexperience in enterprise network engineering/operations;
  
• Hands-onexperience with Cisco ACI;
  
• Solidexperience with Huawei switching;
  
• Experienceadministering Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls;
  
• Experiencewith Azure Networking and Security services;
  
• Strongrouting & switching knowledge (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP) and VPN technologies;
  
• FluentPortuguese and good English (written and spoken);
  
• Interpersonalrelationship and teamwork;
  
• Proactivity,initiative and good analytical ability.
  

Nice to have:

• Network/securitycertifications: Cisco CCNP/CCIE (Data Center or Enterprise), Palo Alto PCNSE,Fortinet NSE 4 or higher, Microsoft AZ-700,
