Job summary

IT House is recruiting a Senior Network Engineer for a client in the insurance sector, based in Lisbon.

The role focuses on designing and implementing data center and cloud network infrastructure, including NSX-T and ACI, with strong emphasis on security, automation, and production support. You will collaborate across global teams and partners in a hybrid Lisbon environment.

Qualifications

• University degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related domain.
• Minimum 8 years of expertise within the Network domain in international environments.
• Deep expertise in Data Center and Cloud Network infrastructure (NSX-T, ACI, SASE, VPN, Firewall).
• Advanced knowledge of network automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Python).
• Experience with major load balancer, switch fabric, and security technologies (Cisco, Check Point, Palo Alto, F5, McAfee).
• Fluent English (mandatory) and ability to work in global matrix organizations.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to digital transformation initiatives and the One Network Program.
• Design, engineer, deploy, and evolve data center and cloud network infrastructure.
• Define and deliver robust, secure network solutions aligned with requirements.
• Provide advanced expertise on NSX-T and ACI for production deployments.
• Lead design and assessment activities, proposing cost-effective, standardized solutions.
• Support data center network transformation and legacy transitions.
• Contribute to network automation using Terraform, Ansible, Python.
• Provide Level 3 production support and incident resolution.
• Produce technical documentation and knowledge transfer materials.
• Coordinate with AXA IT Services and technology partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contribute to digital transformation initiatives and the One Network Program, supporting connectivity enhancement and cyber risk mitigation objectives;
• Design, engineer, deploy, and evolve Data Center and Cloud Network infrastructure solutions (routers, switches, load balancers, Internet access, DWDM, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud);
• Define and deliver sustainable, robust, and secure network infrastructure solutions aligned with business, security, and operational requirements;
• Provide advanced technical expertise on NSX-T and ACI technologies, finalizing configurations and supporting production deployments;
• Lead infrastructure solution design and assessment activities, analyzing business and technical requirements while proposing cost-effective, standardized solutions;
• Support Data Center Network transformation initiatives and legacy environment transition activities;
• Contribute to Network Automation initiatives using Terraform, Ansible, and Python for infrastructure orchestration;
• Provide Level 3 production support, advanced troubleshooting, and incident resolution;
• Produce technical documentation, knowledge transfer materials, and quality of service assessments;
• Facilitate interactions across functional domains, AXA IT Services, and strategic technology partners.

PROFILE

• University degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related domain;
• Minimum 8 years of expertise within the Network domain in international and matrix organizational environments;
• Deep expertise in Data Center and Cloud Network infrastructure (NSX-T, ACI, SASE, VPN, Firewall, Web Gateway technologies);
• Expertise in infrastructure transformation and modernization initiatives;
• Advanced knowledge of network automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Python);
• Experience with major load balancer, switch fabric, and network security technologies (Cisco, Check Point, Palo Alto, F5, McAfee);
• Expertise in infrastructure architecture design, solution design, and requirements analysis (business and technical);
• Strong ability to deliver high-quality technical outputs in constrained planning environments;
• Proficiency in recommending technology solutions aligned with business objectives and technical strategy;
• Fluent English (mandatory);
• Ability to work effectively in global, multicultural, and matrix organizational environments.
