Elastic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Elasticsearch - Distributed Systems team. You will focus on scale, performance, and resilience in our Serverless offering, tackling deep distributed systems challenges in how nodes communicate and data is managed across the cluster.

Responsibilities include building core components, improving indexing, maintaining cluster coordination, and handling high-scale deployments across multiple machines.

Qualificações

• Deep background in distributed systems and consensus algorithms.
• Strong skills in core Java and data structures/concurrency.
• Deep proficiency in algorithms and complex, highly distributed systems.
• Ability to build and debug features with broad impact across multiple machines.
• Proven track record of using AI to accelerate development and optimize code.

Responsabilidades

• Leverage distributed systems expertise to build and operate core pieces of the Serverless Elasticsearch offering.
• Improve components for concurrent/consistent indexing across machines.
• Maintain cluster coordination to preserve performance as nodes join/leave and data moves.
• Push limits on shards, nodes, and petabytes supported by Elasticsearch today.
• Own operational investigations end-to-end until issues are resolved.
