Elastic is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join the Elasticsearch - Distributed Systems team. You will tackle deep distributed systems challenges in how nodes communicate and data are indexed, allocated, and managed across nodes.

You will own the design and delivery of core pieces for our Serverless Elasticsearch offering, improve indexing across multiple machines, and ensure high performance and resilience in a distributed environment.

Qualificações

• Deep background in distributed systems and consensus algorithms.
• Strong Java core and data structures knowledge, concurrency aware.
• Experience building large-scale distributed systems with multi-machine deployments.
• Proven ability to own projects from design to delivery and lead cross-team work.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and operate core pieces of our Serverless Elasticsearch offering.
• Improve components that support concurrent and consistent indexing across machines.
• Maintain cluster coordination to keep performance as nodes join/leave.
• Push limits on shards, nodes, and petabytes handled today.
• Investigate performance or concurrency issues and propose solutions.
• Support our engineers with difficult problems and findings.
• Own end-to-end operational investigations until issues are resolved.
