Elastic, the Search AI Company, is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join the Elasticsearch - Distributed Systems team and advance our Serverless offering. You will tackle deep distributed systems challenges across nodes, indexing, and cluster coordination, while owning end-to-end projects with cross-functional teams.

This role emphasizes autonomy, collaboration, and impact at scale across customers worldwide.

Qualificações

• Deep background in distributed systems and consensus algorithms.
• Strong skills in core Java and data structures/concurrency.
• Deep proficiency in algorithms.
• Experience building large-scale distributed systems with multi-machine deployments.
• Ability to own projects end-to-end and lead cross-functional teams.
• Proven track record using AI to accelerate development and optimize code.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and operate core pieces of next-generation Serverless Elasticsearch.
• Improve components for concurrent and consistent indexing across multiple machines.
• Maintain cluster coordination to preserve performance as nodes join/leave and data moves.
• Push limits on shards, nodes, and petabytes.
• Investigate performance or concurrency issues and propose solutions.
• Support engineers with difficult problems and own end-to-end investigations.
