Job summary

KCS IT in Lisbon is seeking an Amazing Mid-Level Java backend developer to build robust, scalable applications with Java and Spring Boot. You will contribute to microservices, RESTful APIs, and work with SQL databases in a collaborative, agile environment.

You'll join cross-functional Product Owners and Architects, participate in code reviews, and help maintain documentation while upholding Clean Code principles. English fluency and Portugal residency are required.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of professional experience in Java backend development.
• Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Knowledge of Microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL databases.
• Familiarity with Docker and CI/CD practices.
• Experience with unit and integration testing (JUnit, Mockito).
• Understanding of Clean Code and Agile methodologies.
• Ability to write clear and structured technical documentation.
• Experience collaborating with Product Owners and Architects.
• Fluency in English (mandatory).
• Must be currently residing in Portugal and legally authorized to work in the country

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Contribute to the evolution and optimization of existing applications.
• Ensure the implementation of software development best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and promote code quality standards.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation.
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Architects, and development teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in testing, deployment, and maintenance activities throughout the software development lifecycle.
