Job summary

KCS IT, founded in 2008 and based in Lisbon, is a consulting company in IT services offering diverse projects across retailers and e-commerce. We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to join our team for remote work from Portugal, focusing on Shopify integrations and scalable backend services.

You will work with modern Java, Spring Boot, GraphQL, AWS, and Kafka in production systems, delivering robust REST APIs and observability practices, while collaborating with distributed teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong hands-on experience with modern Java versions and Spring Boot, developing scalable backend services and REST APIs.
• Proven experience with Shopify integrations, and maintaining production environments.
• Solid experience with GraphQL, designing and maintaining GraphQL APIs.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, including DynamoDB and secrets management.
• Experience with Kafka or similar event-streaming technologies and event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of OpenTelemetry and observability practices, including monitoring and distributed tracing.
• Fluency in English is mandatory; based in Portugal; availability to work 08:00–17:00 CET.
