Job summary

Quanteam, the founding entity of RAINBOW PARTNERS, seeks a Java Backend Developer/Tech Lead for Porto or Lisbon. You will design scalable back-end architectures, implement APIs, and drive CI/CD, microservices and testing while collaborating with analysts and teams.

The role requires strong Java/Spring, PostgreSQL, cloud and containerization skills, plus English fluency. Hybrid work in Porto or Lisbon with growth opportunities and training programs.

Qualifications

• University degree in IT or related field is required.
• Strong Java development skills with Spring Framework.
• Advanced SQL knowledge, especially PostgreSQL.
• Experience with CI/CD, microservices, unit testing and version control.
• Cloud experience (AWS or IBM) helpful.
• Experience with Docker and containerization.
• Ability to work across Dev, Tech Analysis and Leadership roles.
• Fluent English in speech and writing; hybrid Porto/Lisbon base.

We are looking for a Java Backend Developer/Tech Lead (Porto/Lisbon)

MAIN TASKS

• Design, develop and secure scalable back-end architectures;
• Develop and maintain solutions using Java and Spring Framework;
• Implement and expose data through APIs and other data access solutions;
• Industrialize solutions following CI/CD best practices;
• Develop scalable and maintainable microservices;
• Apply good software engineering practices, including unit testing and version control;
• Work with PostgreSQL and complex data structures;
• Contribute to validation and testing phases with end users;
• Understand functional requirements and translate them into technical solutions;
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, end users and other technical teams;
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives.

YOUR PROFILE AND SKILLS

• University degree or equivalent professional experience in IT, Computer Science, Information Management or a related field;
• Solid professional experience in Java development, with strong knowledge of Spring Framework;
• Advanced knowledge of SQL, particularly PostgreSQL;
• Good understanding of software engineering best practices, including: CI/CD, Microservices, Unit testing, Version control, Secure and scalable development.
• Experience with cloud environments such as AWS or IBM;
• Experience with Docker and containerization;
• Ability and interest in working across different responsibilities, combining Development, Technical Business Analysis and/or Technical Leadership;
• Experience working in Agile environments;
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Hybrid position based in Porto or Lisbon.

• This role offers a gross annual salary between 38.000€ to 50.000€, defined according to the candidate’s experience and competencies.
