Shine's ERP Engineering Team in Porto is seeking a Domain Engineer. You will define architecture direction, ensure engineering standards, and work with Senior Engineers to align technical decisions with business goals.

This is a senior IC role focused on cross-cutting impact, not people management. We are modernizing our stack and expanding into new markets, tackling scale, multi-tenancy and domain complexity.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on experience designing and evolving scalable systems, ideally in multi-tenant SaaS or platform environments.
• End-to-end architectural ownership with well-documented reasoning for decisions.
• Ability to influence direction without formal management authority.
• Experience with .NET, Angular, SQL Server, Azure and modern CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Own the target architecture of your domain and the path to get there.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, security, and compliance are design constraints from day one.
• Maintain architecture documentation (C4 diagrams, ADRs) within the workflow.
• Set and calibrate design review thresholds, delegating to senior engineers as needed.
• Spend roughly half your time embedded with engineering teams and half on cross-engineering work — standards and architecture forum.
• Grow the architectural judgment of senior engineers over time.
• Partner with Engineering Directors, Engineering Managers, and Product to surface technical constraints and trade-offs.
