Job summary

Shine's ERP Engineering Team is building Europe’s leading ERP for small businesses. As a Domain Engineer, you define architecture direction, ensure engineering standards, and work with team managers and Senior Engineers to align technical decisions with business goals.

This senior IC role focuses on cross-cutting technical impact, expanding into new markets, addressing scale, multi-tenancy and domain complexity, not legacy work. Job located in Porto with optional remote days.

Qualifications

Significant hands-on experience designing evolving systems at scale.
End-to-end ownership of architecture decisions with well-documented reasoning.
Ability to translate complex tech trade-offs for product and business leaders.

Responsibilities

Own the target architecture of your domain and a realistic path to get there.
Maintain design constraints including reliability, scalability, security, and compliance from day one.
Keep living architecture docs (C4 diagrams, ADRs) as part of the workflow.
Set design review thresholds and delegate to senior engineers as appropriate.
Split time between embedding with engineering teams and cross-engineering work on standards and Architecture Forum.
Grow architectural judgment of senior engineers to reduce dependency on you.
Collaborate with Engineering Directors, Engineering Managers, and Product to surface constraints clearly.
