Job summary

Shine, the ERP engineering team’s domain engineer, is seeking a senior IC to set architecture direction for a multi-tenant fintech platform. You’ll ensure reliability, security and compliance from day one while shaping technical roadmaps across domains.

You’ll spend half your time embedded with engineering teams and half on cross-architecture work, expanding into new markets as Shine grows within Europe.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on experience designing and evolving systems at scale, ideally multi-tenant SaaS or platform environments.
• End-to-end ownership of architecture decisions with well-documented reasoning.
• Ability to guide direction without formal management authority.

Responsibilities

• Own the target architecture of your domain and the realistic path to get there.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, security, and compliance are design constraints from day one.
• Maintain living architecture documentation (C4 diagrams, ADRs) in the workflow.
• Set and calibrate design review thresholds, delegating to senior engineers as their judgment grows.
• Spend roughly half your time embedded with engineering teams, and half on cross-engineering work — standards, the Golden Path, and Architecture Forum.
• Grow the architectural judgment of senior engineers, reducing dependence over time.
• Partner with Engineering Directors, Engineering Managers, and Product to surface constraints and trade-offs clearly.
