IT House is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Backend to join our team in Porto on a direct placement with an end client in logistics and transportation. The role requires strong Java/Spring expertise, microservices experience, and cloud-native know-how.

You will own complex features, drive architectural decisions, and mentor peers. The position offers a hybrid work model in Porto and competitive compensation.

Qualificações

• Candidates should hold a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
• Several years of professional software development experience, preferably in enterprise applications.
• Strong experience with Java and Spring (Spring Boot) and modern OO languages.
• Solid knowledge of microservices, cloud-native apps, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on in Kubernetes, Docker, Git and relational databases (SQL).
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and modern engineering practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and enhance the next generation of our terminal management system.
• Design, implement, and improve scalable, maintainable, high-performance software.
• Contribute to software architecture with modern patterns and technologies.
• Take ownership of complex features and mentor teammates.
• Ensure high code quality with reviews, tests, and refactoring.
• Improve development processes, CI/CD, automation, and modern practices.
• Mitigate risks related to performance, security, and scalability.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, QA, UX, and stakeholders to deliver quality software.
• Share knowledge and promote best practices within the team.
• Foster a collaborative, quality-focused engineering culture.
