We Are META is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our team and optimize operations across client projects. You will build and deploy advanced mathematical models, leveraging Python and industry-standard solvers to drive decision support and efficiency.

Preferred candidates bring 5+ years in Data Science/OR, strong optimization skills, and experience with cloud platforms such as AWS. Fluency in English and Portuguese is required, with a hybrid work setup in Portugal.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of experience in Data Science and Operations Research roles, ideally in sectors like logistics or travel.
• Strong background in optimization, solvers, and algorithm design (linear/nonlinear/integer programming).
• Expertise in Python for modelling and production deployment.
• Experience deploying and monitoring live systems (AWS is a plus).
• Fluency in English and Portuguese (B2 level).
• Availability for a hybrid regime, 1x/week, in Porto or Coimbra offices.

For this position, the perfect Rhino should have the following skills:

• +5 years of professional experience in Data Science and Operations Research roles, ideally in car rental, airlines, logistics or similar capacity-planning-intensive sectors;
• Strong background in Mathematical optimization (linear, non linear, integer programming), solvers, and algorithm design (dynamic/stochastic programming);
• Expertise in Python for modelling and production deployment;
• AI tooling expertise in development workflow and (familiarity with spec-driven development is a plus);
• Experience deploying and monitoring live systems (AWS is preferred) is a plus;
• Fluency in English and Portuguese (B2 Level);
• Availability for a hybrid regime, 1x/week, in Porto or Coimbra offices (candidates should be based in Portugal with Portuguese or EU citizenship, or a valid work permit).
