Hiire is helping an ambitious early-stage fintech build a real-time compliance platform, and we’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join the team in Porto. You’ll design and build customer-facing REST APIs that are intuitive, reliable and easy for developers to integrate with.

You’ll also own the systems responsible for collecting, processing and structuring the data that powers the platform. Your work will include building resilient data ingestion pipelines, developing scalable web

Formación

• At least seven years of backend engineering experience, with end-to-end ownership of production systems.
• Strong experience with Python or willingness to work primarily with Python.
• Solid ability to design clean, versioned REST APIs.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and asynchronous architectures.

Responsabilidades

• Design and build customer-facing REST APIs that are intuitive and developer-friendly.
• Own systems for collecting, processing and structuring data powering the platform.
• Build resilient data ingestion pipelines and scalable web scraping/parsing components.
• Tackle distributed systems challenges with asynchronous processing, queues, retries, idempotency and eventual consistency.
• Ship frequently, monitor production performance and iterate based on customer feedback.
• Influence architecture, engineering standards and culture as an early team member.
