HumanIT Digital Consulting is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (Python) for a hybrid Porto role with two office days. You will own backend systems end-to-end, design customer-facing REST APIs, and help shape scalable financial infrastructure for a fintech client.

You will work on secure data ingestion, processing pipelines, and ensure reliability, security and regulatory compliance in flows such as KYC/AML.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Proficient in Python and distributed systems.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL.
• Experience in cloud environments.
• Strong product mindset and end-to-end ownership.
• Senior-level design of customer-facing REST APIs.
• English proficiency: B2 or higher.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We're hiring on behalf of a fintech client building secure, high-scale financial infrastructure. This is a chance to take full end-to-end ownership of backend systems, working on products that directly shape how customers and partners interact with sensitive financial data. The role offers strong technical autonomy and real influence over architecture and product direction.

PROJECT & CONTEXT

You will own backend systems end-to-end, designing customer-facing REST APIs and building secure, resilient data ingestion and processing pipelines. The team operates in a fintech environment where reliability, security, and compliance are core priorities, and your work will directly support how the platform handles regulated data flows, including KYC/AML and fraud-related processes.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (Required)

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in Python and solid understanding of distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL
• Experience working in cloud environments
• Strong product mindset and end-to-end ownership mentality
• Senior-level experience designing and building customer-facing REST APIs
• B2 English (Upper Intermediate) or above, written and spoken

NICE TO HAVE (Preferred)

• Experience in fintech, KYC/AML, fraud prevention, or compliance-related systems
• Experience building large-scale data pipelines
• Familiarity with secure data ingestion and processing practices in regulated environments

Work Model: Hybrid in Porto, 2 days per week at the client's office.
