Rain is the world's first AI Financial Health Platform, serving 3.5 million employees at leading organisations. We are looking for a Staff Backend Engineer in EMEA.

This remote role will let you set the technical direction for major backend areas, including API integrations with 3rd-party vendors and core systems that sit at the intersection of banking, payroll, and timekeeping. You will shape the architecture, set the engineering bar, and lead efforts to build a new family of fintech products.

Qualificações

• 8+ years of professional engineering experience, staff/principal level
• Experience designing and building fintech products from concept to scale
• Strong system design skills for fast-paced environments with long-term health
• Ability to own large, ambiguous initiatives from concept to completion
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
• Deep familiarity with large-scale distributed systems

Responsabilidades

• Set technical direction and architecture for major backend areas
• Design and implement reliable distributed systems and microservices
• Build and maintain 3rd-party integrations
• Design scalable RESTful APIs for web and mobile apps
• Establish reusable patterns and libraries for scalability
• Enforce observability with logging, metrics, and alerts
• Create and maintain architecture/API documentation
• Monitor systems for performance and scalability
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar
