Jobgether is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend - Data Layer based in Portugal. You will design and evolve storage, query, and data-processing across relational databases and Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, owning initiatives from design to production rollouts in a remote-first environment.

You will address performance, scalability, data pipelines, and reliable operation at scale while collaborating with Product, QA, Support, and SRE teams.

Qualificações

• 7+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, or MSSQL.
• Strong experience with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch and data modeling.
• Ability to investigate slow queries and identify root causes.
• Led medium-to-large engineering initiatives lasting 3+ months.
• Excellent communication in distributed, remote-first environments.
• Experience with CI pipelines and migrations (Liquibase/Flyway) is a plus.

• Design, build, maintain backend services for enterprise-scale data.
• Develop solutions across relational databases and Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.
• Own engineering initiatives from requirements to production rollout.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, Support, and SRE teams.
• Evolve data storage, retention, and exposure capabilities.
• Improve performance and scalability of data layer and pipelines.
• Contribute to tooling and operations for reliable production.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident resolution.
