Jobgether is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer (Financial Ledger) in Portugal to own and evolve a critical financial core. You will lead the design and implementation of ledger models, revenue recognition, and multi‑party settlement within an event‑driven, cloud‑based stack.

You will work closely with engineering and finance leaders to ensure correctness, auditable workflows, and scalable architectures, while hands‑on coding and guiding future iterations.

Qualificações

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience with ownership of financial or transactional systems.
• Experience building or maintaining financial platforms like payments, billing, or subscriptions.
• Deep knowledge of ledger systems, reconciliation, and deterministic financial correctness.
• Strong grasp of revenue recognition, liabilities, and multi‑party money flows.

Responsabilidades

• Take technical ownership of the Financial Core system and guide its evolution.
• Ensure system integrity across periodic reconciliation and financial flows.
• Design and maintain ledger models for revenue recognition and cost allocation.
• Enforce invariants within an event‑driven architecture for auditable outcomes.
• Collaborate with finance and engineering to translate business rules into robust code.
• Lead improvements to a live production system and its architectural direction.
• Support reliability and scalability across payment, billing, and reporting domains.
• Contribute hands‑on to backend development while guiding architecture.
