Job summary

SimplicityDX is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Backend/Infrastructure in Lisbon, Portugal. The role focuses on building real-time ingestion pipelines, verification infrastructure, and distribution of verified UGC to AI surfaces and commerce feeds.

The engineer will own schemas, data models, and system reliability, while collaborating with multiple teams and working with AI coding agents integrated into the codebase. Remote relocation to Lisbon is welcomed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) for backend services; Python is a plus.
• Experience designing and operating distributed, real-time or near-real-time systems.
• API design and modern microservice architecture with SQL and NoSQL stores.
• Track record of clean, production-grade code and testing.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
• Strong security practices for backend systems handling user data.
• Leadership in system design and mentoring junior developers.
• Ability to work with AI coding agents and maintain pragmatic human review.

Responsibilities

• Design and build real-time ingestion pipelines from creator content to machine-readable data.
• Build and operate verification infrastructure behind multi-layer human review.
• Own distribution of verified UGC to AI-facing surfaces and commerce feeds.
• Design and evolve schemas and data models (schema.org, custom types) for inference-time queries.
• Instrument and monitor systems for reliability, latency, and data quality; participate in on-call.
• Collaborate with verification, storefront, and platform teams to maintain contracts across stages.
• Work hands-on with AI coding agents integrated into the codebase and issue tracker.
