Job summary

Riskified is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join a fast-moving AI Engineering team in Lisbon. You will drive AI capabilities, ensure scalable backend systems, and collaborate with product, business, and engineering partners to deliver impactful AI-driven solutions.

The role emphasizes ownership, end-to-end delivery, and building an AI platform that powers multiple Riskified products, with a base salary range disclosed for Lisbon and hybrid work flexibility.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend/server-side development experience.
• Proficiency in Python or other general-purpose language.
• Ability to collaborate across product, business, account management, and non-technical partners.
• Strong ownership with end-to-end delivery.
• Experience with public clouds (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Fluency in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Design and build reusable AI capabilities—models, tools, APIs, and platforms.
• Develop and maintain our internal MCP server for AI agents data access.
• Create and implement evaluation frameworks and AI guardrails.
• Collaborate with teams to accelerate AI adoption and productization.
• Own projects end to end—from requirements to deployment and operation.
• Guide other teams in leveraging the AI platforms and tools you create.
