TalentCo, a fast-growing startup in Portugal, seeks Senior Backend Engineers to design and scale AI-powered back-end systems. You’ll work with AI researchers, ML engineers, and full-stack peers to deliver enterprise-grade applications and real-time AI workflows.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years building production-grade systems, strong Node.js/Typescript skills, and solid cloud infrastructure knowledge (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

TalentCo are delighted to be working with a fast-growing Agentic AI startup looking to hire several high-calibre Senior Backend Engineers into their growing engineering team in the Portugal, having recently closed a significant seed funding round.

This hire can be based fully-remote anywhere in Portugal, for this Silicon Valley headquartered startup.

You will be at the forefront of building and scaling AI-powered applications, transforming how enterprises interact with intelligent agents. You’ll focus on developing scalable back-end systems that power real-time AI-driven workflows.

This role requires strong software engineering skills, a deep understanding of backend development, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, AI-first environment. You’ll collaborate with AI engineers, AI researchers, full-stack engineers and product teams to build enterprise-grade solutions that enable seamless AI-human interactions.

We want to hear from you if you have:

• 6+ years of hands-on experience building production applications, having worked in high-bar engineering environments, particularly startups or scale-ups.
• A backend focus, with proficiency in modern web technologies, namely Node.js and Typescript
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and scalable architectures.
• Understanding of AI-powered applications, including LLMs, chat interfaces, and agentic workflows.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-autonomy environment, solving complex problems and delivering impact.
• Strong collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams with engineers, designers, and AI researchers.

• Salary between €100k-150k dependent on experience
