Job summary

Genesis Digital Solutions is seeking a Senior AI Platform Engineer to design, implement and scale an AI-driven SDLC platform in Lisbon. You will own agentic workflows, integrate AI agents with Jira and CI/CD tools, and build robust MCP servers with evaluation frameworks.

You’ll work autonomously on complex challenges, driving adoption of IaC practices and cloud infrastructure, while shaping developer productivity across engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with leadership responsibilities.

We are looking for a Senior AI Platform Engineer to build and scale an AI-driven engineering platform that enhances developer productivity and streamlines the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements and design to implementation, testing, and production.

This role combines hands-on AI engineering, agentic workflow development, and platform engineering. You will design and deploy AI agents that operate in real-world production environments, integrate them with enterprise engineering tools, and establish the evaluation frameworks and quality controls needed to ensure reliable outcomes.

We are looking for a highly autonomous engineer who takes ownership of complex technical challenges, evaluates alternative solutions, and drives implementation with minimal supervision.

What You’ll Work On

• Design and build agentic development workflows, tools, and automation across the entire SDLC.
  
• Develop, deploy, and integrate AI agents in production environments, including orchestration, tool use, and context engineering.
  
• Build and integrate Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and agent-to-tool integrations.
  
• Implement evaluation frameworks, guardrails, and quality checks to ensure reliable and consistent agent outputs.
  
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and internal developer tooling.
  
• Integrate AI-powered workflows with enterprise engineering systems, including Jira, source control platforms, and CI/CD tools.
  
• Develop and improve internal developer platforms, command-line interfaces (CLIs), and workflow engines.
  
• Leverage AI coding tools to enhance software development practices and engineering productivity.
  
• Improve the reliability, efficiency, and overall developer experience of engineering workflows.
  
• Evaluate alternative technical approaches and independently drive implementation decisions.
  
• Apply Infrastructure as Code practices to build and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure.

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including senior or technical leadership responsibilities
  
• Proven hands-on experience building and deploying AI agents in production environments.
  
• Strong knowledge of agent orchestration, MCP, tool integration, context engineering, and evaluation frameworks.
  
• Solid background in Platform Engineering, DevOps, and CI/CD.
  
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript.
  
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly GCP or equivalent cloud platforms.
  
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
  
• Experience developing internal developer platforms, CLIs, automation frameworks, or workflow engines.
  
• Strong understanding of the end-to-end Software Development Lifecycle and developer productivity practices.
  
• Hands-on experience using agentic coding tools as part of day-to-day software development.
  
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to independently investigate, evaluate, and implement technical solutions.
  
• Strong sense of ownership and ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  
• C1 level of English, both written and spoken

• Experience with AI-powered development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or similar solutions.
  
• Knowledge of knowledge graphs, static analysis, or code intelligence tooling.
  
• Experience with BDD, Cucumber, contract testing, or mobile test automation tools such as Maestro.
  
• Experience improving engineering productivity through automation at scale.
  
• Familiarity with Kotlin, Go, or Rust.
