Job summary

Wire IT, based in Portugal, seeks an experienced AI Engineer to design, develop, and deploy AI agents and LLM-powered applications. You will build RAG systems, wire vector databases, and integrate multiple LLM providers, while crafting efficient prompts and monitoring costs.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in software or AI roles, strong Node.js/Python skills, and fluency in English; French at C1 is mandatory.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional experience in Software Development or AI Engineering.
• Strong programming skills in Node.js and/or Python.
• Hands-on experience designing, developing, and deploying AI Agents and LLM-powered applications.
• Experience with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems.
• Experience with vector databases and embeddings (Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma).
• Experience integrating multiple LLM providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google).
• Knowledge of prompt engineering and cost-efficient AI implementations.
• Experience with context management and optimization for AI apps.
• Knowledge of MCP and AI Skills development.
• Ability to create technical documentation and SDLC standards.
• Strong problem-solving, autonomy, curiosity, and a solution-oriented mindset.
• Excellent collaboration and communication across teams.
