Job summary

A2It Tecnologia is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to design and optimise AI-powered features with a focus on LLMs, RAG, and AI agent orchestration. This is a remote-from-Portugal role with a fixed-term contract until 31 December 2026.

You will design AI/LLM services, develop RAG pipelines, and implement LLMOps, CI/CD, and testing while collaborating with a permanent team. Applicants must be based in Portugal.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Python backend development (Django & FastAPI).

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain AI/LLM services and APIs using Python, Django and FastAPI.
• Develop end-to-end RAG pipelines, including chunking, embeddings, hybrid retrieval and vector databases.
• Build AI agents and tools using frameworks such as Google ADK, Haystack or LangGraph, including MCP-based tool calling.
• Implement LLMOps practices for tracing, evaluation, observability and cost/performance optimisation.
• Ensure code quality through automated testing, documentation, code reviews and CI/CD.
• Document AI components and ensure knowledge transfer to the permanent team.
