Job summary

VML in Portugal is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to design and implement production-grade AI agents and GenAI capabilities within client Azure environments.

You will focus on LLM integration, RAG and context retrieval, agent orchestration, structured outputs, guardrails and evaluation frameworks, working closely with the Solution Architect and Technical Lead to turn the target architecture into reliable, secure AI services.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with LLMs and Generative AI.
• Proven ability to build RAG and retrieval-based AI solutions.
• Experience with Azure AI services in enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of AI security, observability and reliability.
• Collaborates closely with architects and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Prompt engineering, structured outputs and tool calling.
• Build evaluation frameworks, golden datasets and automated tests.
• Design and implement agent orchestration and AI workflows.
• Backend/API development and integration with enterprise systems.
