Job summary

Wire IT, based in Portugal, is seeking a proactive AI Engineer to join its senior, international team. You will build Generative AI applications, integrate with Azure AI services, and shape AI workflows that scale with client needs.

You will translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions, work with APIs and data pipelines, and contribute to responsible production AI practices. This remote role offers a flexible environment and opportunities to grow with a fast-moving,

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering skills in Python and SQL.
• Experience building Generative AI applications, assistants, AI agents, or AI-enabled workflow automation solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Azure AI services, Azure AI Foundry, or comparable AI platforms.
• Understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering, context engineering, tool calling, evaluation, and orchestration.
• Knowledge of responsible production operation of AI systems.
• Experience working with APIs, cloud-native services, data pipelines, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Familiarity with GenAI software engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or OpenCode.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into practical technical solutions.

Location: Portugal (Remote)

Required skills

• Strong software engineering skills in Python and SQL.
• Experience building Generative AI applications, assistants, AI agents, or AI-enabled workflow automation solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Azure AI services, Azure AI Foundry, or comparable AI platforms.
