Job summary

Nordea is seeking an Operational Analyst for Trade Support in Portugal to own the post-trade lifecycle for Securities and, over time, broaden into FX. You will work with custodians, brokers and internal teams to ensure trades are matched, settled and issues resolved promptly.

You will contribute to automation, data analysis and process improvements, leveraging tools like Snowflake, Power BI and SQL. The role emphasizes ownership, collaboration and continuous development.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years in financial operations, post-trade processing for securities.
• Experience with trade matching and resolving mismatches.
• Knowledge of the securities settlement lifecycle and dealing with custodians/brokers.
• Experience coordinating with front office, back office and external partners.
• Good written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely matching of trades in CTM (block and allocation).
• Investigate and resolve mismatches and amendments with custodians and brokers.
• Follow up on settlement status and resolve fails in the settlement chain.
• Onboard new clients and markets into the trade flow, working with business units.
• Communicate with front- and back-office teams.
• Follow market updates and regulatory changes, and assess their impact on our processes.
• Identify root causes of manual work, amendments and mismatches, and propose practical fixes.
• Help increase STP by contributing to automation and integration initiatives.
• Use data and reporting tools, leveraging Snowflake, to track workload, quality and STP.
• Document changes and new procedures.
• Participate in projects as required.
• Build knowledge of FX processes as part of your development.
