Decskill, a growing IT consulting company, seeks an experienced SCADA Subsystem Engineer for a large-scale railway infrastructure project in Oeiras. You will specify, design, integrate and validate the SCADA/telecom subsystem, acting as the project-wide technical interface from design through to installation and commissioning on site.

The role offers a hybrid work model (60% on-site) and opportunities within the Astek Group across national and international contexts, with long-term career

Qualificações

• Engineer grade, preferably Electronics or Control and Automation.
• Experience in CAD Design is an advantage.
• Proven experience in telecom design activities.
• Experience in engineering, configuration, or implementation of SCADA systems.
• Experience in HMI design and development is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of integrated control and monitoring systems is desirable.
• Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Good problem-solving skills with customer-focused solutions.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English.
• University degree and MS Office proficiency.
• Strong teamwork competencies.

Responsabilidades

• Formalise specifications and engineering plans for the solution.
• Assemble solution elements to evaluate design, behaviour and performance.
• Demonstrate that the solution meets approved operational needs and is ready for production and on-site commissioning.
• Plan and coordinate subsystem development within the architecture and design.
• Act as the project-wide technical interface for SCADA domain.
• Optimize work against cost, schedule and risk from design to validation.
• Manage technical requirements within the domain.
• Produce Technical Documents: System Requirements, Design Documents, Config Docs, Installation Manuals, Test Procedures, O&M Docs, Training Docs.
• Provide technical expertise to Design Reviews with internal teams and Customer.
• Support Operations and Maintenance activities definition.
• Perform Testing & Commissioning activities including FAT, field tests, and on-site commissioning.
• Support configuration control with Configuration Manager.
• Prepare subsystem training documentation and deliver training.
• Capture and capitalise on Lessons Learned.

We would like to meet a SCADA Subsystem Engineer for a project with aHybrid (60% on-site) working model in Oeiras.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced SCADA Subsystem Engineer to join a large-scale railway infrastructure project. In this role, you will be responsible for the specification, design, integration, and validation of the SCADA/telecom subsystem, acting as the project-wide technical interface for your domain — from design through to installation and commissioning on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Formalise the specifications and engineering plans used to develop the solution/product
• Assemble the solution/product elements to evaluate design, behaviour, interactions and performance, and confirm requirements are fulfilled
• Demonstrate that the solution/product satisfies the approved operational needs and is ready for release to production, testing, installation, and operation and support
• Plan and coordinate subsystem development within the agreed architecture and design, ensuring consistency with customer requirements and company processes
• Act as the project-wide technical interface for your domain, ensuring subsystem interfaces are defined, consistent, and complete
• Optimise technical work against cost, schedule, and risk, from design through to validation and acceptance
• Manage technical requirements within your domain
• Produce Technical Documents, including System Requirements, Design Documents, Configuration Documents, Installation Manuals, Test Procedures, O&M Documentation, and Training Documentation
• Provide technical expertise to Design Reviews with internal teams and the Customer
• Provide technical expertise for the definition of Operations and Maintenance activities
• Perform Testing & Commissioning (T&C) activities, including FAT tests, configuration field tests, and on-site commissioning
• Support configuration control and management in conjunction with the Configuration Manager
• Prepare subsystem training documentation and deliver training in your domain
• Capture and capitalise on Lessons Learned

What We're Looking For

• Engineer grade, preferably in Electronics Engineering or Control and Automation Engineering
• Experience in CAD Design (an advantage)
• Proven experience in telecom design activities
• Experience in engineering, configuration, or implementation of SCADA systems
• Experience in HMI design and development (highly desirable)
• Knowledge of integrated control and monitoring systems (desirable)
• Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, with the ability to handle multiple priorities
• Good communication skills, able to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Good problem-solving skills, with experience developing and implementing customer-focused solutions
• Fluent in Portuguese and English
• University degree
• Proficient in MS Office Tools
• Strong teamwork competencies
