SCADA System Engineer – Drive Innovation with ALTEN!

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop design, testing, implementation, and customer acceptance for Access Control and SCADA subsystems.
- Formalize engineering specifications and plans for the solution.
- Assemble and evaluate the solution to verify compliance with requirements.
- Demonstrate that the solution meets operational needs and is ready for production, testing, and installation.
- Plan and coordinate the development of the subsystem, ensuring alignment with the global architecture and company objectives.
- Serve as the technical interface for project matters, ensuring subsystem interfaces are defined and consistent.
- Optimize technical work in terms of costs, schedule, and risks.
- Manage technical requirements within your domain.
Prepare technical documentation, including:
- System requirements.
- Test procedures.
- Operation and Maintenance (O&M) documentation.
- Provide technical support in design reviews with internal teams and clients.
- Define Operation and Maintenance activities.
- Conduct Testing and Commissioning (T&C) activities, including:
- Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
- Field configuration tests.
- Manage configuration control in collaboration with the configuration manager.
- Prepare training documentation and conduct training sessions in your domain.
- Record and capitalize on lessons learned.
What we’re looking for?
- Experience in SCADA systems, design, testing, and implementation.
- Strong technical expertise in Access Control and SCADA subsystems.
- Ability to formalize engineering specifications and plans.
- Experience in assembling and evaluating solutions to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Skills in project coordination and alignment with global architecture.
- Proficiency in technical documentation (requirements, design, manuals, test procedures).
- Experience in technical support for design reviews and on-site activities.
- Knowledge of Testing and Commissioning (T&C) processes, including FAT and on-site commissioning.
- Ability to optimize technical work in terms of costs, schedule, and risks.
- Strong communication skills for interfacing with internal teams and clients.
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and lessons learned.
- Willingness to travel for project needs (Portugal, EU, or other countries).
- Hybrid work model: 60% on-site (Paço d'Arcos, Portugal) + 40% remote (3 days in the office + 2 days remote). First month: 100% on-site.
