Decskill, a growing IT consulting company, seeks a Mid/Senior Application Support Engineer for a hybrid role in Porto. You will provide operational and Level 3 support across production environments, focusing on stability and incident response.

The ideal candidate has at least 6 years in IT infrastructure, strong Linux skills, scripting, web servers, CI/CD, monitoring, and disaster recovery experience. You will collaborate with development/infrastructure teams to drive projects and automation.

Responsabilidades

• Provide operational and Level 3 support across production environments (incident resolution, changes, maintenance, on-call).
• Ensure application and infrastructure stability, defining monitoring metrics and improving system resilience.
• Coordinate technical operations and change management (deployments, infrastructure updates, disaster recovery procedures).
• Drive technical projects with development and infrastructure teams (planning, architecture, execution).
• Manage and monitor job scheduling, application performance, and system capacity.
• Maintain and improve monitoring, alerting, and automation processes.
• Manage backups and disaster recovery plans, including regular testing.
• Document application architecture, processes, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with development teams to define and support application architectures aligned with infrastructure standards.

We would like to meet a Mid/Senior Application Support Engineer for a project with a hybrid working model in Porto.

Requirements:

• Minimum 6 years of experience in IT infrastructure, application support, or similar roles.
• Strong knowledge of Linux environments (Windows Server is a plus).
• Proficiency in scripting (Shell, Python, PowerShell).
• Solid experience with web servers (JBoss, WebSphere, Tomcat, Apache, IIS), including migrations.
• Good understanding of security concepts (SSL certificates, reverse proxy, load balancing).
• Experience with job schedulers (Control-M, VTOM or similar).
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Zabbix, Grafana, ELK).
• Experience with CI/CD and deployment tools (Git, Jenkins, XL Deploy, XL Release, Bitbucket, Artifactory, OpenShift, Docker).
• Knowledge of databases and SQL.
• Good understanding of networking fundamentals.
• Experience with backup strategies and disaster recovery planning.
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Proactive mindset with focus on automation and continuous improvement
• Ability to work in 24/7 production environments (on-call rotation)
