Job summary

Lever, Inc. is seeking a Welsh Language Specialist - Freelance AI Trainer Project based in Portugal. You will annotate AI Welsh content, assess grammar and style, and provide expert feedback to improve model outputs.

Work remotely in a flexible freelance role, collaborating with language teams to refine prompts, guidelines, and evaluation methods for Welsh-language AI tools used worldwide.

Qualifications

• Fluent or native-level proficiency in Welsh with modern usage.
• Experience in translation, linguistics, language teaching, editing, or content creation.
• Strong understanding of Welsh grammar, syntax, semantics, vocabulary, style, and culture.
• Excellent written communication and ability to explain linguistic decisions.
• Attention to detail and ability to identify subtle language errors.
• Experience with linguistic annotation, AI training, data labeling, or model testing is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently in a remote freelance environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and annotate Welsh-language content used for AI training and evaluation.
• Assess AI-generated Welsh outputs for grammar, fluency, meaning, style.
• Identify linguistic, contextual, and cultural issues and provide actionable feedback.
• Analyze recurring error patterns to improve model performance.
• Evaluate whether generated content reflects Welsh linguistic and cultural context.
• Contribute feedback to prompts, evaluation methodologies, and language guidelines.
• Apply consistent annotation and quality standards across tasks.
• Collaborate remotely with project teams and other language specialists.
• Use professional judgment when reviewing nuanced Welsh content.
