Lever, Inc. is listing this role in Portugal via our partner company, seeking a Software Engineer specializing in Python and Kubernetes.

You will develop Python-based operations software to automate workloads on Kubernetes, engaging with Linux stack components and open source technologies. You'll collaborate with globally distributed teams to deliver production-ready solutions, with a strong emphasis on reliability, testing, and operational excellence, while enjoying a fully distributed remote

Qualificações

• Bachelors degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or related field.
• Strong professional experience with Python and solving technically challenging problems.
• Hands-on Linux systems administration, package management, and production operations.
• Practical experience with at least one public cloud platform.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes and containerized application environments.
• Strong understanding of software reliability principles and dependable systems design.
• Interest in distributed systems and cross-layer Linux/cloud stack.
• Solid engineering discipline: testing, maintainable code, and documentation.
• Good organization and time management; deliver high-quality software on schedule.
• Strong collaboration and communication within globally distributed teams.
• Genuine interest in open source software, cloud computing, and learning from peers.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and maintain open source Python operations software on Kubernetes.
• Work across the Linux stack: kernel, networking, storage, virtualization, containers, applications.
• Improve reliability, automation, and operational efficiency of open source systems.
• Build and improve monitoring and alerting infrastructure for production operations.
• Simplify the operation of open source technologies for customers and the broader open source community.
• Apply sound software architecture, engineering, testing, documentation, and quality practices.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure products operate reliably at production scale.
• Follow agile software development methodologies and contribute to effective development workflows.
• Share technical knowledge and coach colleagues to strengthen engineering capabilities across the team.
• Contribute to a healthy, collaborative engineering culture within a globally distributed organization.
• Work remotely while participating in global company and team events, travel up to two weeks per year.
