Job summary

L Hotel Fátima, operated by the Lakhani Group, is opening soon and seeking a hands-on Porter / General Assistant to support guests and all hotel departments. You will help with luggage, deliveries, and day-to-day tasks, with day shifts on a rotating schedule including weekends.

Reports to Hotel Manager and joins a brand-new hotel team from day one. Ideal candidates have basic Portuguese and English, are physically fit, proactive, and ready for training before opening.

Qualifications

• Basic Portuguese and English language skills.
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy items.
• Practical, polite and proactive approach.
• Available for rotating shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Hotel or maintenance experience is a plus but not required.
• Paid training before opening and joining a brand-new hotel team.

Responsibilities

• Welcome arriving guests and groups and carry luggage to rooms.
• Store luggage and manage luggage room.
• Receive and move deliveries to the appropriate department.
• Carry out minor maintenance and set-up tasks and report larger issues.
• Support Housekeeping and Breakfast teams during busy periods.
• Keep entrance, lobby and outside areas tidy.

About L Hotel Fátima: The Lakhani Group (TLG) is opening L Hotel Fátima on 12 October 2026, and we are building our founding team.

The Porter / General Assistant supports guests and every department with luggage, deliveries and day-to-day tasks around the hotel. It is a varied, hands‑on role suited to someone practical and helpful. Shift: day shift, rotating, including weekends. Reports to: Hotel Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome arriving guests and groups, and carry luggage to and from rooms
• Store luggage and manage the luggage room
• Receive and move deliveries (linen, supplies, food) to the right department
• Carry out minor maintenance and set-up tasks, and report larger issues
• Support Housekeeping and Breakfast teams at busy times
• Keep the entrance, lobby and outside areas tidy

Applications are reviewed daily and interviews run on a rolling basis until positions are filled.
