Job summary

GRiT Solutions in Portugal seeks a Network and Security Engineer to join a team responsible for running and supporting network infrastructures and security services for corporate customers.

You will configure monitoring systems, troubleshoot network, connectivity and performance incidents, and roll out network, security and access equipment with a focus on uptime and quality. Strong Portuguese and English skills are required.

Qualifications

• Over 3 years of experience in enterprise networks and/or security.
• Solid knowledge of IP networking: routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP.
• Hands-on setup of network monitoring and diagnostics, namely with Zabbix.
• Knowledge of firewalls, network security and cybersecurity best practices.
• Configuration and management of network equipment.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills in critical environments.
• European Portuguese and English at B2 level.
• Accountability and a customer-focused mindset.
• Planning and prioritization of workload.
• Effective communication with both technical and functional audiences.
• Initiative and appetite for emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

• Integrate into a team running and supporting network infrastructures and security services for corporate customers.
• Configure monitoring systems and troubleshoot network, connectivity and performance incidents.
• Roll out and tune network, security and access equipment.
• Coordinate technical work with in-house teams and third-party suppliers.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and technology evolution projects.
• Maintain technical documentation and operating procedures.
• Provide expert technical support to corporate customers with advisory for network changes.
• Participate in standby and on-call rotations as assessed by the Team Leader.

Job Description:

Integration into a team responsible for running and supporting network infrastructures and security services for corporate customers. Configuration of monitoring systems, namely Zabbix, troubleshooting of network, connectivity and performance incidents, rollout and tuning of network, security and access equipment. Emphasis on service uptime, stability and quality, coordination of technical work with in-house teams and third-party suppliers, involvement in continuous improvement and technology evolution projects, maintenance of technical documentation and operating procedures. Expert technical support to corporate customers, with advice and network changes subject to prior customer sign-off. Future integration into the standby and on-call team, subject to the Team Leader's assessment of readiness.

Must-Have:

• Over 3 years of experience in support, operation or administration of enterprise networks and/or security
• Solid knowledge of IP networking: routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP
