Job summary

GEDON™ | Precision Search for Complex Construction in Portugal is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to lead HVAC and piped services on large, programme-driven projects around Lisbon. You will coordinate design, procurement and installation, partnering with electrical and commissioning teams to deliver integrated outcomes.

The role requires strong knowledge of HVAC, data centre or industrial projects is beneficial, subcontractor management, and a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Qualifications

• Experience as Mechanical Project Manager or Senior Mechanical Engineer on large construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, cooling and piped services systems.
• Experience on data centre, mission-critical or industrial projects is beneficial but not essential.
• Ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces.
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of FIDIC or similar contract forms.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical packages including HVAC, cooling and piping systems on large projects.
• Coordinate design, procurement and installation with engineering teams and subcontractors.
• Manage programme, cost and quality for your scope and report progress to project leadership.
• Interface with electrical and commissioning teams to ensure integrated delivery.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT & PROJECTS

You will lead mechanical packages on large, programme-driven projects, working closely with electrical, CSA and commissioning teams. Projects involve complex cooling, HVAC and piped services systems, offering strong technical exposure.

The team is collaborative and solutions-focused, combining international best practice with local market knowledge. You will be supported by experienced senior leaders while being trusted to take ownership of your scope.

You will gain exposure to the full project lifecycle, from design coordination and procurement through to installation, commissioning and handover.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the delivery of mechanical packages, including HVAC, cooling, plumbing and piped services
• Coordinate design, procurement and installation with engineering teams and specialist subcontractors
• Manage programme, cost and quality for your scope, reporting progress to project leadership
• Interface closely with electrical, CSA and commissioning teams to ensure integrated delivery
• Support testing and commissioning activities through to handover
• Build effective relationships with clients, consultants and the supply chain
• Ensure all works are delivered safely and in line with quality standards

WHAT YOU NEED

• Experience as a Mechanical Project Manager or Senior Mechanical Engineer on large construction projects
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, cooling and piped services systems
• Experience on data centre, mission-critical or industrial projects is beneficial but not essential
• Ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of FIDIC or similar contract forms
• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• Fluent English; Portuguese is beneficial but not essential
